Redlight King

This is a pretty cool band and I really like this acoustic performance. You'll be able to hear this song rocked out on the "Avengers Assemble" soundtrack along with someother cool bands.  You can grab their album "Something for the Pain". Pretty good stuff.

Hit Dog Hollar

So tomorrow my band is going to play at SOMA San Diego. This is the first time we are playing there but it is not my first visit to this venue. I really do like concerts but sometimes it can ben somewhat hard to get people to come to a show and pay $10 just to see their own friends play music they have already heard 10 times. Usually I try and spice it up by telling them who the other bands are but usually no one has heard of them and have little interest on finding out. They are just there for you, being a good friend. So upon my research of the bands that we will be sharing the stage with I came across a band that really peaked my interest. Hit Dog Hollar is a local San Diego band and they play southern rock. Very bluesy and rough, this can be a hard thing to find some times. This video is a good example of that style. I can honestly say I will be excited to see them not just because I get to for free.

The Rumjacks

So I had a very very good time at Flogging Molly. My wife and I were at the very sold out show at San Diego's House of Blues. Listening to their music was really fun and at some point I hope to write music like that. It also made me want to find more music in the Irish/Celtic realm. This brought me to a band The Rumjacks. This Australia band has some really good tunes up their sleave. The lead singer spits out lyrics in a gruff tone that is a nice change of pace from the Flogging Molly tenor sound. Very talented band, have a look.
